Struggling to find a job that will sponsor you?

Three steps to a sponsored offer

1

Check the register

Search any company against the live Home Office sponsor register before you apply. If they can't sponsor, you'll know in two seconds.

2

Search verified jobs

Every listing is cross-referenced against the register, so a green badge means the employer genuinely holds a sponsor licence.

3

Apply with confidence

Focus your energy on employers who can say yes. Use our tips to position your visa status as a strength, not an apology.

Tips that actually move the needle

Written for international students, by people who've been through it.

Check the licence before you apply

Most rejections international students face never reach a human — the employer simply can't sponsor. Thirty seconds on the sponsor checker saves hours on an application that was dead on arrival.

Target A-rated Skilled Worker sponsors

A-rated sponsors are in good standing and can issue Certificates of Sponsorship. B-rated sponsors can't sponsor new hires until they fix their compliance issues, so filter them out early.

Know the salary thresholds

Under the rules from July 2025, Skilled Worker roles generally need £41,700+, dropping to £33,400 as a new entrant (recent graduates and under-26s). Always confirm the current figures on gov.uk before negotiating.

Use the Graduate Route strategically

Two years of open work permission means an employer can hire you with zero visa cost or paperwork. Get in the door on the Graduate Route, prove your value, then switch to Skilled Worker from the inside.

Say the right thing about your status

Never open with "I need sponsorship." One confident line works better: "Eligible to work in the UK on the Graduate Route until 2028; New Entrant Skilled Worker provisions apply thereafter." Specific beats apologetic.

Time your applications like an insider

Large sponsors fill graduate schemes from September to November, a full year ahead. Applying in spring means competing for leftovers — build your target list of licensed sponsors the summer before.

Simple pricing, serious results

One wasted application costs you more than a month of The Sponsor List.
